Abstract

The actual situation of postgraduate entrance examinations and employment trends raises the question of whether there is a correlation between these two social situations. The research is based on the framework of planned behavior theory. A theoretical model is constructed by incorporating the independent variable of attention to employment information. Online questionnaire surveys are conducted to collect samples from unlimited areas and populations. Path analysis is performed on the basis of ensuring data reliability and relevance. The study verifies the impact of attention to employment information, behavioral attitudes, subjective norms, and perceived behavioral control on the intention to pursue further education. Research results show that attention to employment information has a significant positive impact on the three mediating variables, firstly. Secondly, both independent and mediating variables have a significant positive impact on the dependent variable of intention to pursue further education. Thirdly, perceived behavioral control has the greatest impact on the mediating effects. There are some limitations in questionnaire design and survey population, which need to be optimized in the future.
