Exploring the Influencing Factors of College Students' Willingness to Use Artificial Intelligence Built on TPB Theory

Abstract

The issue of using AI to search for information has received widespread attention, but existing research on the motivations and mechanisms of influence among college student groups is still insufficient. The current paper is based on the theory of planned behavior (TPB) and analyzes university students' propensity to utilize AI to search for information and the influencing factors. Through questionnaire surveys and regression analysis, this paper concludes that behavioral will is positively subject to the effects of attitude, subjective norms and perception behavior control. Research results analyzed comprehensively prove that college students' willingness to use AI for information retrieval is mainly influenced by attitude, subjective norms, and perceived behavioral control. Based on this, this paper proposes that universities should systematically strengthen the general education of students' artificial intelligence information literacy, guide students to continuously optimize subjective norms to rationally use AI tools, and that college students should systematically cultivate critical thinking and prudently control the extent of using artificial intelligence.
