A Review and Analysis of Representative Academic Teams in the Study of Dunhuang Bianwen

Abstract

Over the past century, Dunhuang Bianwen have attracted the attention and research of numerous Dunhuang scholars, and several academic teams focusing on the study of Dunhuang Bianwen have gradually formed in China. This paper systematically summarizes the research contents of four representative academic teams—the Dunhuang Studies Center of Zhejiang University, the Institute of Dunhuang Studies of Lanzhou University, the Institute of Chinese Folk Culture of Sichuan University, and Dunhuang scholars in Taiwan. It combs the academic achievements of prominent scholars in each team, compares the similarities and differences of their research horizontally and vertically from multiple perspectives for a comprehensive analysis, and prospects and puts forward suggestions for the future research directions and paths of Dunhuang Bianwen, aiming to provide reference and support for the academic research of Dunhuang Bianwen.
