Abstract

The temporal-spatial structure in Jiang Kui's (also known as Baishi) ci-poems possesses a unique artistic realm. It is not only influenced by the traditional Chinese philosophical view of the unity of heaven and humanity but also coincides implicitly with Western temporal-spatial writing techniques. Based on a close reading of Jiang Kui's ci-poems, this paper discusses the hierarchical structure of time and space in his works and summarizes the transformation diagram of time and space therein. The temporal-spatial art of Jiang Kui's ci-poems is manifested in three aspects: the spatial dimension characterized by multi-level superposition and three-dimensional combination paradigm, the temporal dimension featuring a circular closure and dynamic circulation mechanism, and the metaphorical temporal-spatial transformation that achieves cross-cultural artistic coincidence.
