Abstract

This study explores the impact of bilingual education on cognitive and social development, focusing on the roles of teachers and parents in fostering bilingualism. As globalization enhances intercultural interactions, bilingual education equips children with mental flexibility, and problem-solving skills. The integration of dual languages has also been shown to cultivate diverse cultural awareness through linguistic analysis and multicultural interactions. Teachers contribute through systematic pedagogic methods and the implementation of cultural adaptation strategies that support children’s long-term development. Meanwhile, parents play a crucial role by creating a language-abundant environment, facilitating cultural transmission, and promoting emotional well-being through frequent interactions. Effective collaboration between parents and teachers not only enhances children’s cultural awareness but also significantly influences language acquisition. However, challenges in pragmatic bilingual instruction, including inadequate teacher training and insufficient funding for bilingual programs, remain significant obstacles. Future research should address these issues to set a more supportive and effective bilingual education environment.
