Understanding Stubbornness Through the Lens of Game Theory: A Structured Review of Decision-Making, Consequences, and Strategy
Abstract
In daily life, it is normal to encounter people who will never listen to other people's strategies or are born with high communication costs, these people are considered to be very stubborn. There have been many biological and sociological studies on this stubborn psychology, but no one has observed stubbornness as a rational result in every corner of life. Hence, it is particularly vital to understand these people more objectively by understanding some classic game theory concepts.In this study,I explained the role of stubbornness in decision-making. I have summarized the method of incorporating stubbornness as a variable into game models by reviewing past viewpoints,and selected situations from classical games for analysis. More importantly,we analyzed the consequences of stubbornness using the most basic arithmetic logic in the game. Through the discussion in the paper, we can understand stubborn gamblers, anticipate their possible strategies, and develop strategies to deal with stubborn gamblers.
